It certainly wasn’t pretty, but the Maryland men’s basketball team moved to 3-0.
The Terrapins survived a scare from Rider and won 65-58 on Friday.
Forward Jake Layman recorded Maryland’s first double-double as he scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Layman was one of four Terp players to score in double figures.
Maryland would come out cold from the start, going down 7-3, and could not force themselves back over the Broncos.
Maryland struggled to defeat Rider’s 1-3-1 halfcourt set, which made it easy for Rider to get the ball and score in transition.
