Despite needing overtime to beat a local team it had never lost to before, Michigan State remained No. 1 in both the Associated Press media poll and the USA Today Sports coaches’ poll released Monday. The Spartans were a near-unanimous choice in the AP poll, receiving 64 of 65 first-place votes.
Maryland remained No. 4 in both polls.
Big 12 rivals Kansas and Oklahoma flip-flopped between the second and third spots in the respective polls.
The Jayhawks, who received the only other No. 1 vote in the AP, are No.
