The first men’s basketball USA Today coaches poll is in.
Maryland comes in at No. 3 just behind Kentucky and North Carolina.
The Terrapins received five of 32 first place votes, and were one of five Big Ten teams that debuted in the poll. Michigan Sate (N0. 13), Indiana (No. 15), Wisconsin (No. 17), and Purdue (No. 24) also appeared in the poll, which was released on Thursday afternoon.
No. 4 Duke and No. 5 Kansas also received votes.
This comes just one day after guard Melo Trimble was tabbed as the preseason Big Ten Player of the Year.
