COLLEGE PARK — Freshman center Hunter Dickinson scored a career-high 26 points to lead No. 16 Michigan men’s basketball to a 84-73 win over Maryland at Xfinity Center on Thursday night.
Michigan (8-0, 3-0 Big Ten) shot 58.8% from the field and led by as many as 19 points in the second half. The Wolverines made 18 of 20 free throws.
The Wolverines built a 10-point lead in the first half but Maryland (6-4, 1-3) cut the margin to as little as one. Michigan led 46-44 at halftime.
It was a tense first half, with four technical fouls assessed.
