Maryland men’s basketball earned its seventh commitment of the transfer portal cycle Friday, nabbing Washington State guard Isaiah Watts. The news was first reported by On3 and confirmed on Watts’ Instagram.
The 6-foot-3 sophomore averaged 11 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game last season for the Cougars. His shooting splits were pedestrian, however, as he shot just 38.9% from the field and 34.8% from deep. Watts posted a season-high 22 points against Eastern Washington on Nov. 21, and started 17 of his 23 games played.
As a freshman, he averaged 3.7 points per game and shot 37.
