Maryland men’s basketball center Qudus Wahab has been named to the 2022 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award watch list.
The center transferred from Georgetown ahead of the season and is expected to make an impact on the court for the Terps. The 6-foot-11 center for Lagos, Nigeria, was the No. 3 overall player listed in the transfer portal this past offseason.
Last season with the Hoyas, Wahab started in 25 out of 26 games and played an integral role in their success. Wahab averaged 12.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. In the Big East tournament, he averaged 14.
