Megan Whittle scored a team-high four goals, and Maryland used a big first half to push past Johns Hopkins. Bryn Boucher and Taylor Cummings each recorded hat tricks, and Maryland's defense never allowed the Blue Jays to find a rhythm on offense.
Cummings also added three ground balls, four draw controls and four caused turnovers while fellow senior captain, and defender, Alice Mercer caused a game-high five turnovers and picked up four ground balls.
The Terps didn't blow the Blue Jays away on the draw --they tied 12-12-- but they came out with good energy and pressured Johns Hopkins into making a lot of mistakes.
