Maryland is just a bit more than a quarter of the way through its second year under Coach Kevin Willard, the first month of which was crammed with enough moments of offensive angst to fill an entire season.
Maybe, as the coach suggests, the Terrapins will progress as shooters and run a more fluid offense in time. But it’s no longer a small sample size, which means Maryland must slug its way through games such as Wednesday’s 81-75 overtime victory over Penn State at Xfinity Center.
