The 11th-ranked Maryland men’s basketball team knew it would be back in the NCAA tournament before the field of 68 was revealed. About the only drama for the Terrapins was their seeding and where they would be playing.

They learned both on Selection Sunday, with the committee awarding Maryland an at-large berth as the No. 4 seed in the West Region. The Terps will face No. 13 seed Grand Canyon (26-7), the WAC champion, Friday afternoon at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena in their second appearance in the NCAA tournament since Coach Kevin Willard took over three years ago.
