Maryland placed 13th on Forbes’ list of the most valuable programs in college basketball, released Tuesday.
The ranking was determined by three-year average revenues from the 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. Revenues and expenses were determined by annual filings made by athletic departments. In that three-year window, Maryland pulled in an average of $23.5 million, with an average profit of $12.9 million.
The Terps are the sixth-highest Big Ten team on the list, with Indiana ($35.5 million per year) leading the conference and coming in at No. 3 overall. Ohio State is sixth, with Illinois at No.
