Maryland linebacker Jermaine Carter wasn’t exactly pleased with himself following Friday’s practice. He wasn’t as aggressive as he usually is, and there were times when he could’ve spoken up and didn’t. Carter was shaken up earlier this week after fellow linebacker Abner Logan was lost for the season with an ACL injury.
“It definitely makes me have to step up more,” Carter said after practice. “I’m not usually a very vocal guy. I try to lead by example. Now with his voice gone, I have to kind of speak up a little bit more.”

Disappointment lingered in Carter’s voice, but he understands there is a lot of football to be played in the coming weeks.
