Maryland lacrosse owned the Big Ten’s weekly honors

Four Maryland lacrosse players—two from the men’s team and two from the women’s team—took home Big Ten weekly awards for their performances in last week’s games.

Connor Kelly was named Big Ten Player of the Week for his three goal, seven assist outburst against No. 8 Notre Dame. He’s only the third player in program history to reach seven assists in one game. It was the fourth time a Terp reached 10 points and the most recent since Maryland great Bob Boneillo did it twice in 1979.

Freshman Justin Shockey earned his first career start at faceoff for the Terps and came away with 15 of 22 draws—including 10 of 11 in the second half—and 11 ground balls.
