Maryland kicker Adam Greene is accustomed to working under pressure, so he didn’t flinch on the first day of spring practice earlier this month. First year Maryland Coach DJ Durkin has repeatedly told his players that if they don’t know what to do during practice, they should just run until they fall into place. That’s what Greene often does during the usual mid-practice burst of special teams work, when he is forced to kick at least six field goals in a rapid succession. The exercise, aided by Durkin and his staff’s non-stop screaming, takes just a few minutes and tests Greene in ways he hasn’t been before.
