Maryland women’s basketball guard Taylor Mikesell was selected to the USA Women’s Pan-American Games team on Monday.
Mikesell, a rising sophomore, is the youngest player on the 12-player roster. She and Team USA will compete in Lima, Peru, from Aug. 6-10. Fellow Terp Stephanie Jones was at trials but didn't make the cut.
The Big Ten Freshman of the Year averaged 13.4 points and 3.5 rebounds last season in College Park, shooting 41 percent from behind the arc to set a program record for three-pointers made in a single season (95).
And this isn’t her first time representing her country.
