Maryland landed its first commitment from the Class of 2017 when tight end Andrew Park of Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, Va., announced his pledge on Twitter early Thursday evening.
Park was originally offered on Feb. 23 and tweeted that he was visiting College Park on Thursday morning. Rivals.com and Scout.com both rate the 6-foot-5, 235-pound Park as a three-star recruit. Park is unranked by 247sports.com and ESPN. According to The Washington Post, Park caught 26 passes for 398 yards and five touchdowns for Lake Braddock last fall.
