Maryland standout wide receiver D.J. Moore will be recognized as the Washington Metro College Player of the Year at the D.C. Touchdown Club’s annual awards banquet, the club announced Thursday.
Moore earned the honor with a record-breaking junior campaign, catching 80 passes for 1,033 yards and eight touchdowns in 2017. He declared for the NFL Draft after the season, finishing his Maryland career fifth in program history in both receptions (146) and receiving yards (2,027). He did it all with approximately 36 different quarterbacks throwing his way (the actual number was eight in three years).
