Yannick Ngakoue had a huge rookie season in 2016.
In 2017, the former Maryland defensive end appears ready to build off of that success.
Ngakoue was selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars went heavy on defense in the first three rounds as they selected cornerback Jalen Ramsey and linebacker Myles Jacks in the first two rounds before grabbing the Maryland star.
In 16 games (15 starts), Ngakoue registered 22 tackles, four forced fumbles, eight sacks, two defended passes, and an interception. To put that into perspective, Defensive Rookie of the Year Joey Bosa had 10.
