Maryland football will hire Kentucky assistant Jimmy Brumbaugh to coach its defensive line, a person with knowledge of the situation said Sunday evening.
Brumbaugh served as an assistant at Kentucky from 2013 to 2016, and he will replace Mike London, who was hired as Howard’s head coach last month after spending a season as defensive line coach and associate head coach under DJ Durkin last season. Durkin took his time to replace London, adding Brumbaugh just four days after introducing one of the top recruiting classes in program history.
It marks the second time in less than a year that Durkin has hired away a Kentucky assistant to fill a hole on his staff.
