The Maryland football program landed its highest-rated quarterback commit in years Friday.
Spalding’s Malik Washington, who is ranked the 18th-best quarterback in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports, announced on a 247Sports YouTube live stream that he plans to join the Terrapins next year. He picked Maryland over finalists Virginia Tech, Syracuse and Central Florida.
“If you can be great, why not be great at home? Your family is here to support you and watch you,” Washington said on the stream. “If you’re really one of them guys, you’ll be a Terp.”
