Maryland football makes top 7 for DeMatha OT Marcus Minor

A day after four-star defensive end Chase Young committed to Ohio State, Maryland football made progress with another DeMatha Catholic High School (Hyattsville, Md.) prospect.

Four-star DeMatha offensive tackle Marcus Minor has the Terps in his top seven, which he released Saturday on Twitter. Maryland joins Auburn, Florida, Miami, Michigan State, Virginia Tech and Rutgers.

Minor is the No. 28 offensive tackle in the class of 2017 and the No. 5 player in Maryland, according to the 247Sports Composite. Maryland currently has one four-star offensive lineman committed in McDonogh tackle Jordan McNair.

Though he’s listed as a tackle, Maryland is recruiting Minor as a guard, according to InsideMDSports’ Ahmed Ghafir, who says defensive backs coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim and offensive coordinator Walt Bell are recruiting him for the Terps.
