DETROIT — The hallways underneath Ford Field were largely quiet as Maryland football players exited the locker room following Monday night’s 36-30 loss to Boston College in the Quick Lane Bowl. Most somberly grabbed a boxed dinner and pulled headphones over their ears as they walked to the bus. Sophomore running back Ty Johnson was among them, but he momentarily ducked into a small hallway to hold court with a band of reporters that peppered him with questions about his 159-yard, two touchdown rushing performance.
But Johnson was hesitant to talk about his latest memorable performance, which pushed him to 1,004 yards on the season and cemented his yards-per-carry total at 8.
