More than a month after Mike Locksley was hired as Maryland’s head football coach, Josh Gattis is reportedly following him from Alabama to College Park to serve as his new offensive coordinator.
Gattis spent one season in Tuscaloosa, previously coaching six years under James Franklin, both at Vanderbilt from 2012-13 and Penn State from 2014-17. In both tenures, he served as wide receivers coach and offensive recruiting coordinator. Gattis joined Nick Saban’s staff as receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator this season.
The 34-year-old Gattis was rumored as a candidate for several positions this offseason before ultimately landing at Maryland.
