Maryland football bulks up defensive line with first spring transfer

Maryland football received a commitment Saturday from graduate defensive lineman Cam Rice, who spent last season at Ohio. It is the Terps’ first addition of the spring transfer portal cycle.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds, Rice posted 30 tackles (10 solo), 8.5 tackles for loss and three sacks in 12 games last year. He only started in one game.

Rice, who played quarterback and linebacker in high school, began his collegiate career as a walk-on at West Virginia, ranked as a two-star recruit by 247Sports.
