As part of Maryland athletics’ jam-packed “Maryland Day” this Saturday—which will see four of the university’s premiere teams hosting games and exhibitions—the Terrapins football team will hold its annual Red-White spring game at noon ET.
With a new coaching staff installed and a number of recognizable players graduating—and perhaps being drafted this weekend—this is an important first glance at a new-look program under Mike Locksley. Obviously, an intrasquad scrimmage doesn’t mean too much, but it gives the team an ability to see how its players can perform against power-conference competitors.
“As a coaching staff, we’re going to get in there tomorrow and try to make it as even as we possibly can with the teams,” Locksley said after practice on Tuesday.
