Maryland football secured a commitment from 2019 kicker/punter Anthony Pecorella out of Malverne, New York, on Sunday.
The 6’3, 190-pound Pecorella played both punter and quarterback at Chaminade High School. In his two seasons of varsity football, Pecorella averaged 43.8 yards per punt and had a career long of 72 yards his junior season.
Maryland will be looking for a punter to replace Wade Lees, who decided to forgo his final year of college eligibility. In his final season for the Terrapins, Lees averaged 40.9 yards per punt, and hit his career long of 67 yards against Michigan State.
