The Maryland field hockey team is 12-0, with its most recent victory the most high-profile of all. The Terps went into Storrs, Connecticut, and outclassed defending national champion UConn, snapping the Huskies’ 33-game winning streak.
Three different Terps earned individual honors for their performances in the win, as Maryland swept all three Big Ten weekly honors. Nike Lorenz was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Week, while Bodil Keus earned Defender of the Week and Bibi Donraadt took home Freshman of the Week.
Lorenz recorded a second-half goal and an an assist in the Terps’ 4-2 win.
