Maryland field hockey closed out the 2018 Terrapin Invitational with a 3-1 win over 17th-ranked Harvard, moving to 7-0 on the season.
Despite a slow first half, the Terrapins picked up on the defensive end in the second frame (a flip from the previous few games) and were able to close the game with three unanswered goals.
Harvard struck first in the 18th minute, when Hannah Pearce was able to deflect in her first goal of the season off a penalty corner, giving the Crimson a 1-0 lead. This would be Maryland’s second time giving up the opening goal, with the first coming in the 3-2 win against Boston College.
