On what felt like the first true day of fall, Maryland field hockey hosted 12th-ranked Delaware to kick off the 2018 Terrapin Invitational. Thanks to a dominant first half, Maryland was able to hold off a second half push by Delaware to win 5-3 and move to 6-0 on the season.
Both the Terrapins and Blue Hens played cautiously for the first few minutes, as conditions were still a bit wet from the rain College park had the night prior. Maryland was able to capitalize early due to Delaware’s lack of pressure, as Kelee Lepage knocked in a rebound off of a penalty corner shot just under four minutes into the game.
