BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Maryland football team absorbed far more than simply a loss to Indiana on Saturday afternoon. Injuries to major contributors also left the Terrapins’ aspirations for long-term prosperity this season in serious jeopardy in the wake of a deflating 42-28 result at Memorial Stadium.
The loss kept Maryland (3-2, 0-2) winless in the Big Ten heading into an open week that arrives with uncertainty surrounding the immediate futures of ailing senior wide receivers Tai Felton and Kaden Prather and senior safety Dante Trader Jr.
Trader exited Saturday’s game in the first quarter, Felton left early in the second half and Prather departed midway through the third quarter with the Hoosiers (5-0, 2-0) holding a 35-21 lead.
