Maryland defense hopes to rebound against South Florida

Randy Edsall's evaluation of his defense's performance against Bowling Green was stark. And it had nothing to do with an up-tempo Falcons offense or any of the dynamic playmakers who stretched the field and stressed the Maryland defense in an eventual 48-27 loss on a rainy Saturday at Byrd Stadium. Instead, Edsall was introspective.

"We're on the field because it's our fault," Edsall said Tuesday. "It's not anybody else's fault but our own."

When Maryland hosts South Florida on Saturday at Byrd Stadium, the Terps will once again be facing a spread attack with dynamic playmakers, though one steeped more in the run than Bowling Green's offense.
