Maryland center Michal Cekovsky is expected to miss Sunday’s game against Wisconsin with a left heel injury, although the ailment is not considered season-ending, Terrapins Coach Mark Turgeon said on Saturday.
“He’s just day by day. Structurally, he’s fine. He’s got a little bruise down there on his heel, so we’ll see,” Turgeon said.
Cekovsky was injured in practice on Tuesday after falling awkwardly on the heel after a dunk, and didn’t travel for Wednesday night’s 75-67 loss to Purdue. The 7-foot-1 Slovakian had a CT scan the following day of the left heel, which is part of the same ankle that was surgically repaired after a season-ending fracture late last season.
