Maryland basketball’s Michal Cekovsky will take his talents back overseas after signing a three-year deal over the weekend.
The Slovakia native will play for KK FMP Beograd, a Belgrade, Serbia-based, ABA League First Division team. His contract was finalized and announced by the team Friday.
The center exhausted his college eligibility after four injury-plagued seasons at Maryland. Cekovsky averaged 4.4 points and 2.3 rebounds while shooting 62.1 percent from the field over 104 games. As a senior, he posted averages of 6.3 points, three rebounds and a block in 28 games. He made a career-high 19 starts.
