Morgan State has announced the hiring of Maryland basketball assistant Kevin Broadus as its new head coach. News of Broadus intending to accepting the job was reported by multiple outlets Monday, with the official announcement came Thursday morning.
The Terps hired Broadus in 2017 after a coaching staff turnover at Georgetown. While at Maryland, Broadus was instrumental on the recruiting trail, helping bring in Serrel Smith Jr. and Ricky Lindo in the 2018 class and twin bigs Makhi and Mekhel Mitchell in 2019.
This is Broadus’ first head coaching job since 2009, when he led Binghamton to an NCAA Tournament appearance in just his second season with the Bearcats.
