But news broke Wednesday that Layman had in fact agreed to a guaranteed contract with the Trail Blazers.
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports was first to report the news, which the Oregonian confirmed. His deal is a three-year contract worth "roughly $2.9 million," with the first two years guaranteed, according to the Oregonian. While this doesn't guarantee Layman a spot in the rotation, it will certainly provide him with some piece of mind now that he knows a team believes in him enough to guarantee his contract.
