BALTIMORE — Maryland basketball survived another slow start to top Charlotte, 88-72, Tuesday night in their second win at Royal Farms Arena in two years. The game followed a familiar story line, as Charlotte’s 37-36 halftime lead evaporated in the second half.
Maryland’s made a pattern of letting lesser teams hang around before running away with it late.
An 11-2 run in the second half helped Maryland secure its lead, as did a balanced scoring attack. After only hitting one of nine shots from beyond the three-point arc in the first half, the Terps hit 10 of 16 in the second.
