Maryland basketball’s first Big Ten Tournament game will come against a team it’s already beaten, as the No. 8-seed Terps will take on Wisconsin at noon Thursday in Madison Square Garden.
It’s a rematch of an early February matchup—one that the Terps won 68-63 in College Park. Thursday’s game will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams in the conference tournament. In recent years, both Maryland and Wisconsin have been solidly in the NCAA Tournament picture, but this year a Big Ten Tournament win will likely be necessary to get either team into the Big Dance.
