Maryland basketball fills out its roster with a walk-on point guard

College basketball season is right around the corner, and Maryland found its final addition for the 2017-18 season.

The Terps updated their roster for the season, and it now includes walk-on freshman Alex Tostado. Tostado adds a little more assurance at point guard behind Anthony Cowan, while preserving a scholarship for what’s expected to be a large 2018 recruiting class.

The 6’2 guard has spent the last two seasons playing at Montverde Academy in Florida, ever since moving from Guadalajara, Mexico. Tostado shares the Montverde connection with freshman Bruno Fernando, who played there in the 2015-16 season, and twins Makhi and Makhel Mitchell, the only current commits for the 2019 class.
