In two games Wells scored 24 points on 8 of 19 shooting, including 8 of 12 from the free throw line, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished 7 assists.
Former Maryland guard Dez Wells entered the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago a little undersized, a little on the older side, and a little under the radar. At Maryland he was listed 6-foot-5, but measured 6-foot-3 at the combine, and just an inch taller with shoes.
He participated in the 5-on-5 scrimmages, which were played for the first time since 2008. Alongside scrimmage teammates Pat Connaughton, Terry Rozier and former conference rival Terran Petteway, Wells showed that three seasons at Maryland, and 70 wins later, he is ready for the NBA.
