Maryland baseball fell behind early and couldn’t recover despite a late rally as Michigan took the series opener in College Park on Friday night, 10-7.
The first-place Wolverines (32-11, 12-3 Big Ten) scored five runs in the first two innings against Terps (23-23, 8-8 Big Ten) senior ace Hunter Parsons, a lead they’d never give up. Another five runs in the seventh blew the game open for Michigan, and although Maryland scored three runs in both the seventh and eighth, the Terps couldn’t complete the comeback.
Parsons struggled on the mound, giving up five runs, four earned and six hits, in five innings on 115 pitches, striking out four and walking four.
