Maryland baseball loses to Nebraska, 5-2, to drop key series

Despite a gutsy pitching performance from Taylor Bloom in his first start back since suffering a concussion several weeks ago, Maryland baseball wasn’t able to put enough runs on the board for him Sunday. Nebraska defeated the Terps 5-2 in a must-win game to keep Maryland’s conference tournament hopes alive.

Maryland (20-27, 6-11 Big Ten) looked well on its way to a series win after taking an 8-1 lead in the second inning of Saturday’s game against Nebraska (22-23, 6-10). Then, the walls collapsed and the Terps gave up 16 unanswered runs as the Huskers routed Maryland, 17-8.
