Maryland baseball falls to Liberty, 5-4

In what continues to be a frustrating season for Maryland, some errors and miscues resulted in Liberty jumping ahead 4-1. The Terps were quiet offensively before putting up a three spot in the eighth, Kevin Smith's double being the big hit. However Liberty scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to take the game.

Outfield error costly for the Terps

The Flames had lost four straight, and were suffering from an excess of walks issued to opposing hitters. It bit them again in the first inning. Senior RHP Carson Madison put Madison Nickens and Nick Dunn aboard via leadoff walks.
