Maryland alum Len Elmore got the axe in ESPN’s layoffs

ESPN cut a whole lot of staff on Wednesday.

This doesn’t have too much of an effect on Maryland, but one local legend will no longer be suiting up for the biggest media company in sports.

Len Elmore played for Maryland basketball from 1970-74 and had a six-year NBA career. Now his 21-year run as a broadcaster — at least at ESPN — is over.
