Damon Evans, who was hired as Maryland’s athletic director June 25, is on a six-year contract that officially began July 2, according to contract details obtained by multiple outlets Friday.
Evans’ contract will pay him at least $720,000 annually, with a base salary of $600,000 and a supplemental income of $120,000 for media appearances, participation in apparel negotiations and appearances made on the school’s behalf.
There are also up to $45,000 in bonuses, which could take his salary up to $765,000. He’ll earn $7,500 if Terrapin Club memberships or fundraising donations increase by more than 5 percent.
