Maryland Coach Mark Turgeon was having difficulty relaying offensive play calls to his players during the first half of Tuesday night’s game against Georgetown, where the chaos inside Xfinity Center initially affected the Terrapins during the first 20 minutes. It certainly frustrated Turgeon, who on about six occasions made calls that reached four players but not the fifth.
It became easier as the teams switched ends during the second half, with Maryland playing offense in front of its own bench. But even after Maryland calmed down and showed poise in a nerve-wracking 75-71 win, Turgeon identified communication as one of the key issues his team must address moving forward.
