Maryland is holding a press conference on Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET. University president Wallace Loh and athletic director Damon Evans will be there.
The school has not released any more details than that, but this press conference comes three days after Loh ordered Evans to place head football coach DJ Durkin on administrative leave. That came in the wake of media reports into his staff’s handling of Jordan McNair, who died on June 13, two weeks after collapsing at a team workout, as well as into the staff’s overall player treatment.
While the initial thought you may have is that Loh and Evans will announce that they’ve decided to fire Durkin, that appears unlikely to happen at this press conference.
