Len Bias and Walt Williams were inducted into the Washington, D.C., Sports Hall of Fame Sunday at Nationals Park before the Nationals took on the Phillies.
Arguably the best player in Maryland basketball history, Bias is the program’s all-time third-leading scorer. During his playing days, he set 15 school records, was ACC Player of the Year twice, led the Terps to four straight NCAA tournaments and an ACC Championship in 1984. The Boston Celtics drafted Bias second overall before his tragic death two days later. He was 22. Bias was inducted to the Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.
