Last-minute visit, Beatty relationship help Terps fliip Virginia Beach WR

The Maryland football team has its first signing-day surprise, and it's a good one.

Tahj Capehart, a highly rated wide receiver and teammate of Terps commits Breyon and Brandon Gaddy's at Virginia Beach's Bishop Sullivan Catholic, signed his letter of intent Wednesday morning with the Terps.

The No. 341 overall player and No. 48 receiver in 247Sports' Composite rankings, Capeheart had been committed to Virginia Tech since August. But he took an official visit to College Park this past weekend, and Maryland wide receivers coach Chris Beatty, a Virginia native and former coach at Hampton and Virginia who Capehart knew, was able to change his mind.
