Maryland football games will sound a little different this season, with legendary Terp and former NFL running back LaMont Jordan replacing Tim Strachan as the full-time color commentator, the school announced Wednesday.
Jordan will join Johnny Holliday on the call, with Strachan stepping down after 22 seasons calling Maryland games. Jordan popped in occasionally last season, and now the 2018 Maryland Hall of Fame inductee will stick around on a permanent basis.
“I greatly enjoyed having LaMont on the call for several games last season and am looking forward to him bringing his unique insight to our broadcast booth,” Holliday said via press release.
