Kevin Huerter is sometimes referred to as a late bloomer in the basketball recruiting world, but his rise as a highly coveted prospect can be traced back to the time his father introduced him to the game at age 4. Huerter has never needed an explanation for where his gifts come from.
His father, Tom, was a staple on the Siena team that beat Stanford in the 1989 NCAA tournament, and Kevin will often watch the upset from beginning to end when it’s replayed on local television, drawing inspiration from the type of college basketball memory he hopes to have someday.
