Maryland guard Kevin Huerter will declare for the NBA draft but has not hired an agent, the school announced Friday afternoon.
The move, which will allow the 6-foot-7 sophomore to attend the NBA draft combine in Chicago and conduct individual workouts with NBA teams, is not unexpected. Heurter ranked second on the Terrapins this past season with 14.8 points per game and led the team with 73 three-pointers on 175 attempts.
“This will be a great experience for Kevin to get honest feedback from NBA teams and executives,” Maryland Coach Mark Turgeon said in a statement. “Taking advantage of this opportunity will allow Kevin and his family to make an informed decision about his future.
